About Us

Zelos was founded in 2006 by Lou O’Boyle who—in the midst of a successful career in local government—started a small business to offer her facilitation expertise and strategic planning methodology to many more local governments. By building quality relationships with her clients, Lou expanded to help them with organizational development and training services that would help their strategic plans come to life—specifically, leadership development, customer service training, and performance measurement guidance.

In 2012, Lou was offered an opportunity to work full-time in her home county to lead its comprehensive strategic plan initiatives. She jumped at the opportunity and sold Zelos to Stacia Aylward who she’d come to know over the prior year and who she trusted to care as much about the Zelos clients and quality of services as she did.

Under Stacia’s leadership, Zelos has continued to grow and expand, offering a breadth and depth of services and resources to its government and not-for-profit clients. But it has never compromised on its promise of connectedness, authenticity, responsibility and strategy. Zelos continues to serve mission-driven organizations and the individuals who work in them.

In 2018, to meet demand from our organizational clients and from independent individuals, Zelos launched a unique set of services that allows for personalized, individualized learning. You can access those services through our on-demand coaching and consultation serv.

Starting in 2021, Emily Groo, Elisa Torres, and Annie Turner joined Zelos as coaches, consultants, guides, and advisors, working closely with Stacia Aylward, Lou O’Boyle, Terrie Glass, Michael Barber, Helene Bumbalo, and all of our long-term Zelos team members. We all love what we do, and it shows in our work and client relationships.

Zelos is a Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity certified small, woman-owned, and minority-owned (SWaM) business, #650963, with the micro-business designation as well.
